I'm surprised you were able to get opacity to work in IE. Usually it goes the other way around. You might try checking out http://www.w3c.org and http://www.w3schools.com for lots of great info on CSS and XHTML. For other CSS stuff I might able to help. I've been amassing a huge list of resources lately. Keep it up!
